Clinical Acupressure? It is simply the use of traditional and modern concepts of acupressure and reflextherapy that physical therapists may use to augment other forms of treatment – including acupuncture. It may also be used as a ‘whole treatment’ paradigm. It represents a very gentle and subtle, yet powerful, form of bodywork that includes assessment as well as treatment.
- To understand the rational behind Clinical Acupressure and to adapt it into other treatment programmes
- To understand clearly which conditions and symptoms may be helped and which may not
- To understand how to maintain therapeutic boundaries
- To teach safe and secure practical methods to patients for self-help maintenance of conditions
On completion of the 4-day Course, the delegate should: –
- Be able to assess a patient in relation to the presentation and physical findings
- Be able to safely perform energetic balancing through acupressure in order to create homeostasis within the patient
- To be able to justify and critically evaluate the application of clinical acupressure
- To be able to use self help procedures safely and effectively
No previous acupressure/reflexology knowledge is required but please attend with an open mind and a willingness for your boundaries to be extended.
